WHEN ARE YOU OPEN?

Weekdays from 10 to 15. 

You are welcome to stay long and work on your project after 15.

 

WHO CAN USE THE LAB?

Students and lecturers at KEA can use the lab.

If you are from outside of KEA, please contact the Lab manager Chen via QIC1@kea.dk.

 

What can I do at the lab?

You are welcome to work either on your own project, work on a school project or just come by to learn and experiment with wearable technology.

 

What COMPONENTS / Tools / MACHINES can i use?

You can use all the tools and machines for free (exception: if you want to print something with the resin 3D printer, then you need to pay for the filament).

However, if you want to take your project with you at home, then you need to pay for all the components used in your project.

WHAT IS YOUR SPACE CAPACITY?

Currently the lab can hold a maximum of 25 people comfortably.  

 

what CAN I EXPECT TO GET help?

At the moment, you can get advice and help from the Wearables Lab Manager, Chen, on electronics and about materials and 3D printing.

 

DO I HAVE TO HAVE PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE IN ELECTRONICS BEFORE VISITING THE LAB?

No previous knowledge needed. It would be helpful for you to check out this free tutorial to cover some of the basic of electronics, before your first visit to the lab, so you can have more time to build your projects.

 

HOW MANY HOURS WOULD IT TAKE ME TO COMPLETE A PROJECT?

It depends on your project, your level of expertise, your patience and persistence. If you are a beginner, generally expect to spend at least 3 hours to cover much of the basics in electronics. It is important not to rush, or expect to learn fast at the beginning. Have patience and enjoy learning and building.

 

DO I NEED A COMPUTER?

Yes, you will need it for programming, learning & tutorials.

 

CAN I STORE MY PROJECT AT THE LAB?

Yes - depending on its size. There will be boxes provided where you can store your projects until your last visit at the lab. After that, the lab cannot keep your projects in the lab space, so you have to take them with you.
